I plan to do a snow scape layout in Z. I hope to cover houses and I hope to cover the ground and most things in between.
This will be a Christmas layout so the snow doesn't need to be so much realistic, it should be pristine and newfallen.
Ideally, I'd like it to have that pillowy rounded depth that a thick layer of newfallen snow has on roofs and streetlights such, so I'd want to layer it several millimeters thick.
What material(s) do you recommend I try? I'll probably have to go through a few to find one that gets the matte texture, fluffiness and smoothness the way I want.

one of the best snow effects i've seen was from using powerdered marble. it's available through Arizona products (can't remember the exact company name). people have used plaster, and woodland scenics makes a snow product too, but the powerdered marble is fine and has the white glisten to it that is so real.
