I've got a Marklin 88961 that I'm selling for a friend and I know nothing about
it, can someone help me out with some info.

I don't find it readily listed and I need to know something about the loco. It
is gray in color and does not come with a tender. It is a 2-8-2. I have no
idea of its value.

Does someone know something about this loco?

Thank you,
Loren

Hi Loren,
It is a class BR 86 DB in the Museum Livery (i.e., special edition). Brand new loco of this type (standard livery) costs between $200 and $300 online. If you want I can send you more stuff later on, once I dig up my book on German Steam Locomotives and translate the relevant passages (the book is in Polish ;-))

cheers

Konrad

The 88961 is a Marklin-Exclusiv 1996 product.
Its value in Europe (eBay-Germany) varies between 50 and 100 Euro (70 to 140 $) depending on their condition.

Thanks guys,
I've now been informed pretty thoroughly about this loco. Life is a learning experience and I've just experienced more learning.

Do appreciate your info.

Z-World is an excellent resource for anything made up to about 2001. No pricing data though.
