Help needed with dimensions! was created by TailUK
I was wondering if there is a member of the group who has a Crown Model EF-64 Japanese freight loco in Z gauge? I'm trying to find out the wheelbase of the bogie, that is the distance between the axles center to center.
I'm trying to find if it could be used in a kit bashing project.

Many thanks in advance.

I assume the EF-64 has the same chassis as the model I had on my chopping block, the EF-81. It's a wonderful base for kit bashing, the towers have the worm incorporated, and they're driven by drive shafts with universal joints (like the new Tenshodo steamer). The wheelbase is 11.75 mm, the wheel diameter is 5.15 mm. Both powered trucks have one traction tire.

Lajos :)

The EF-64 axle spacing is 12mm the distance between the trucks is 53mm excluding the dummy center truck. The chassis is 79mm excluding the couplers.

Thanks to both for that. It's exactly what I wanted to hear.
