Ok Stony, So you would say this is a winner all the way around? It sure looks good. Is this the polished or the regular?

So maybe this will give rise to perhaps other small shells?

Some of them, yes. The Metal materials do not have the option of movable parts, so things like the Bucyrus would not be an option. Also, handrails/ladders will always be an issue.

Now would I have a problem with this printing in Polished Silver like I did a while back???

Is there an advantage to the silver shell? In other words, is it easier to paint on or is the major difference more detail in the shell using silver vs. brass? Thanks.

I think we’re talking apples to oranges when discussing polished metal over “raw” metal. Both can have an advantage over the other. Polished “anything” can take paint better for a nice smooth finish, like the long sides of a loco. Raw metal can give a more “rustic” type finish but not necessarily a flat finish. One advantage a Raw metal item can have over a polished one is the fact that fine details are not polished into oblivion during the polishing process. (I believe brass is harder and can hold the details just a bit better than silver.) An advantage polished Sterling Silver can have over a non-polished silver item is to give it the appearance of already being “chromed”, which works out well for automobile bumpers, grilles & hubcaps, etc., but not much use on a locomotive. Personally, I wanted this in Sterling simply for a collector piece.

Yea, what John said. What about an open windows concept, even if the windows needed to lose the upright supports/dividers and go with larger windows? (I'm thinking ventilation for that little engine.)

Good! thing about the little rebel the windows can be drilled out if you want open windows and you don't have to think about breaking like the Plastic models do and it has plenty of weight!
