Huet-Trains switchers

Huet-Trains switchers was created by bambuko
It seems that guys who buy brass locos in Z keep things close to their chest :)
After a spell of hectic discussion late last year about Gerard Huet's switchers it all appears to have gone very quiet?
I know they are a bit more expensive than mass produced plastic locos and times are tough, but I expected at least somebody,
to report proudly about their new purchase.
Did anybody buy any of these locos?
Any photos? Any reports?
In the past, brass locos, however nice looking, often didn't turn out to be exactly thrilling performers on the track ...

Anybody?

Oh, how I'd love to get one. Nearly did... but I've already busted my budget--and then some--on D51s.

Maybe someday...

In the beginning I was pretty much interested in getting one. I lost my interest with the fact, that there is no space left to put in a decoder.

They are very nice little switchers, but my layout is DCC so I too don't plan on buying one. However, if a DCC version were to be done, I would buy it.

I was trying to get the components to assemble myself, but no chance...
I guess you can install a decoder in the cab were the weight is, but...no weight, no traction, no switching. Seems to be a bit pointless...

In looking at the photos, I wonder if it would be feasible to install it underneath, where the fuel tank is?

I am making modifications on the frames of the chassis to fit a Z2 decoder inside the cab. I hope this will be OK in the next weeks. I'll publish video when it will be OK.
Good news : the final prices of the SW1 / SW9 switchers will be lower.

Gerard,

I really like that box car "Th,Fuog Transitaire / Geneve. Have you ever thought about offering it in Z scale?

Love the switchers, I have a weakness for SW1s as it was the first American loco I ever bought (in HO).
Could you supply one unpainted or, failing that, offer a Burlington Northern option?
Also, do you accept Paypal?

1 / The TH FUOG wagon in "Z" : it's a project for the end of the year (for "RailExpo" / Paris, in november). But before, I have to finish the PRR N5 Cabin Car wich is actually on the computer.

2 / I don't want to supply unpainted models (and also no kits ...), but I can study any enquiries for other options.

3 / I have no Paypal account (they take a too high tax for each payment), but I accept Visa and Mastercard.

Nice little locos Gerard. Any plans for a GE 44-Tonner? :)

The SW1 / SW9 / SW900 are definitively built with a "Z2" DCC decoder (from TCS) installed. With a new design of the frame, I have enough place for the Z2 and some ballast.
