All,

Next picture shows that not only Z scale handlayed track can be wrapped by the heat of the sun.

Frank, Why does this track look familiar to me? Cheers, Jim CCRR:laugh:

South Australia has been having a rough time of it with the heat wave lately.
A lot of infrastructure was just not built to handle it.

Yes, we learned that first hand at a club BBQ (no shrimp at this on :) ) One module ended up beyond the umbrella. When we went to run the brand new top secrete soon to be released gold plated prototype GP35 hand carried down from MTL, we had a heck of a time running all kinds of cars around this one module.

This is also another reason I do NOT solder my flex track !!! On the cold days, I can clearly see the cracks and on warm days, I don't. When laying track, I gauge it on the temperature. Warm days, as close as possible but never forced tight. COld days, leave a little gap.

For hand laid track, when you solder it every 1" / 2.5cm, it really has little room to move ! Need to keep the environment stable !
