375' Modern Feeder Container Ship Now Available

This class of feeder ship debuted in the early 1990s, and new ones are still being built. This ship has a capacity of about 540 TEUs, or 270 40' containers.

At just over 20" long, it will fit in small harbors. I've seen this class of ships all over the world, either in person or through Google Earth, from both large and small shipping companies. It has a side-launched rescue boat.

I'm showing it with a full load of containers—the container stacks are not included, and are available separately.The ship has custom photo-etched railings and stairways, and many custom details such as winches, masts, ventilators, davits and lifeboat.

A built-up model, custom painted and decaled, without containers, is $750.00 US, plus shipping and insurance.
An undecorated full load of containers (three high, not four as shown) is $100.00 US. A load of containers painted and decaled is a special order; ask for a quote.
A complete kit containing all details (but not the load of containers, and commodities like paint and glue) is $225 US, plus shipping.

Pete--Ships are "She"---Big Sister! Just like the fairer ones among us... They show off their topsides, hide their bottoms, when entering port they head for the bouys, and it cost a ton of money to keep em in powder and paint.

Thom!, I'm a sailor to! and I sure wouldn't want to work on a ship that was not a she. Ship are manned mostly with men so SHE would be the best term to use.

Ships can be either she or he, depending on context. The Essex class carriers of WWII were referred to as big brothers to, for example, earlier fleet carriers (which may not have been smaller but less advanced) or the light and transport carriers, or the rest of their carrier fleets. But yes, usually she. There was certainly the Lady Lex, but I don't know that the Yorktown was a she, even if a sister ship. He-he--we could bore the train guys forever with this debate.

Folks seem to like this feeder ship, which I'm showing at the Cincinnati train show this weekend.

I think it's really important to try to extend Z scale offerings, be they trains, ships, buildings, bridges, or stubborn mules. The trains need a supporting structure around them.
