Are you still making the MiJack intermodal container handler? Are they for sale? What do they cost ?
Thanks...

That cattle car looks nice. I wouldn't mind having one. How do you paint these Shapeways models. I read the tread about removing the waxy surface, but after that, do you prime them before painting?

I use a product called Bestine - 10 minute soak and all the 'wax' is gone, and the external surface turns an opaque white as though you had primed it. In that state, it holds the paint very nicely.

Of course... "StonyCan'tPaint"....

I know all about Bestine, as my wife use to "wax down" ads and articles in newspapers. I just didn't know if they required priming before painting. I know brass takes paint better if primed than not primed (after a white vinegar bath.)

I have bought hundreds of items from Shapeways and highly recommend giving them a couple of light coats of white primer all around. It gives it some degree of additional strength, helps to fill in some of the look of porosity, and helps any other colors you add look better. I always always primer them white.

My new mixture of Showcaseminiatures and Shapeways I made a bed for one of the stake truck I bought for my propane tank dealer. It has a small crane to off load propane tanks for delivery to your house.
