AZL Theft

AZL Theft was created by ztrack
Hans Riddervold, one of the owner's of AZL, has asked that I pass the word along. Hans had a suitcase stolen from his rent-a-car in Los Angeles. A number of AZL items were in the suitcase including a number of unreleased products. The list of stolen items includes:

GP30s:
2 x SP (with black fuel tanks)
1 x SSW
1 x UP
1 x DRGW
2 x WC
2 x NYC
2 x GN

Bay Window Cabooses:
CSX
WC
Milwaukee
NS
UP
RI

Autoracks (6 units)
Quite a few (probably 6 singles)

1x Illinois Central SD70M

Please keep an eye on auction sites for these items. Also, for our train friends in LA, watch for individuals trying to sell these trains. Again, they should be easy to spot since most have never been released and are basically one-of-a-kind products at the moment.

Thank you for your help!

I just sent this information off to Allied Trains in Culver City. They are well known for buying Lionel Trains and these theives may try to sell them there. Allied Trains is also well connected to the greater Los Angeles area model train community.
Sorry for the poor visitor relations, here in Los Angeles.

Wow, what a terrible thing to happen.

How about also checking the newspapers, Nickel adds, Crag's list, and also pawn shops.
These are bound to show up somewhere.
In the mean time, who wants to join the lynch party for when we find the guy or guys who did this/

We'll need at least three people on the hanging party. One to hold the horse, one to cinch the rope tight and one to swat the horse. I get first dibs on jobs.

I've always wondered what would happen if I were to use a cattle prod on a horse's rear?

Everybody keep a sharp eye out for the missing items.

I guess you will find the stuff in a dumpster, I don't think tiny locos are the prefered prey...

Here is the link to the 'AZL Booth' gallery in the 'NTS 2011' folder. You will find several photos of the the stolen items. www.zcentralstation.com/index.php?option=com_joomgallery&view=category&catid=294&Itemid=178

If you do see any of the stolen items on any auction site, do not confront the seller. notify Hans or Rob first. The next step would let them contact that auction site for further investigation to recover the stolen products.

With Craigslist and any other local 'sales site', still contact Hans or Rob, and let them contact the local authorities.

A cool site that I use for a Craigslist search is 'Search Tempest' at www.searchtempest.com/ This allows me to perform a blanket search over any zipcode to whatever distance I want to search to.

OK, I just got back from Allied Model Trains and they will let the rest of the local train community know. They will also inform The Original Whistle Stop in Pasadena, which is on the "other side" from where Hans' car was burglarized. And they carry a full line of MTL Z scale products.
So we'll keep an eye out for these items.

I can't believe that anyone on this list could condone such a barbaric suggestion.

Swatting horses is wrong........

You would probably end up with a mouth full of hoof and in need of some of your own dental work. :(

How do I know? Just look at my photo... I'm a jack@$$!

Well, this theft is sad news. If we all look closely these items will probably turn up sooner or later. Jim
