Rob,

Do you know if they are going to come out with UP wide vision caboose and UP F3 A and B units? And if they do have plans to do such, do you know when?

Thanks,

-Jon

Jon UP wide vision cabooses are not planned. UP F3s are definitely coming. I am not sure when we will be releasing them. We have not set the release calendar as of yet.

Thanks Rob.

Is the caboose a UP licensing thing (I dont know how RR companies license out their Logo's and likeness to be used on products)? Or is UP not as popular of a road name as I thought it was?

Thanks,

-Jon

Jon I believe it is more of a prototype thing. I am not sure if the UP ran these type of cabooses. They had their own particular classes such as the class CA-3 steel side caboose. I did a quick web search and did not see UP wide vision cabooses. But it is always possible one may turn up.

AZL is fully licensed with the UP so no problems there. UP is hugely popular. We have offered the UP bay window cabooses (which sold out), and in brass the CA-3 cabooses. These are actually nearly sold out.

I don't recall ever having seen a UP wide-vision caboose, so I bet that is high on the list of reasons. B)

Of course, there were never any BN NSC coil cars either. Why they would choose to do a foobie when there are probably at least a dozen legit schemes left to do is....well it's very "Micro-Trains" of them. :silly:

So maybe it's just random dumb luck that they didn't do a UP foobie caboose the same month that they did foobie BN coil cars.

I will say this about the coil car run. You will see cars based on true NSC prototypes. You will also see cars like the BN which the prototype uses a different chassis and are not NSC. This is a compromise AZL made since they were not able to offer both versions as this time. I will also share that two of the releases will be pure fantasy and not based on actual prototypes. I know fantasy cars are a point of contention, you either love them, or hate them... but these two have really grown on me.

But not too worry, there are a year and a half of coil car releases still to come!
