The storefronts in the pics are Marklin originals. I think your supplier is making copies of them....but I'm not sure. Your new building is looking good.

I've constructed 2 more modules. They're siding extension modules. It's just 3 lines of straight track running across the module. One module is complete and the other one is waiting for more track that's on back-order. I'm going to stop making modules for right now but anyone who wants to build some and join me is welcome to do so.

I'll be bringing the T-rail-Z modules along with my Z-Bend Track modules and joining Ellen with her Z-Bend Track modules and humidor and tool box in Galesburg, Illinois at the Galesburg Railroad Days Model Train & Railroadiana Show Saturday, June 22, 2013 from 9am until 5pm and Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 10am until 4pm at Carl Sandburg College 2400 S. Lake Storey Rd. Galesburg, Illinois. I'm not sure exactly where we'll be as the organizer isn't sure yet with the recent flooding there. I look forward to seeing anybody who's interested in coming.

John, We've always been inside a nice solid building there. Outside tents can be a problem :-) I want to take these modules to Atlanta but I still haven't heard from my contact.

Walt, I'm going to just send you the pictures...if I can.

Hi Walt,

I haven't gotten around to doing any more to the modules. I'm not sure if I want to paint streets on the black modules yet. I haven't really decided to use them that way for sure. Here are some pictures of the modules set up in Galesburg last weekend. I've already added 2 new members to the Yahoo T-rail-Z group from the show.

Still looks good! Thanks, I thought that you might have added some things! Since I notice that you had that Dunn's Factory that I had gotten also. I haven't put it on my layout yet because I didn't like how it looked the brick work was messed up so I rebuild it out of wood. Did you move the Bar and Grill? it doesn't look the same as the close up shot of the city!!!

Thanks,
Walt

I suspect that nothing is in the same spot as the previous close-up of the city. I separated the 2 city modules and placed the buildings at random...just like I did the first time..so things are probably in different places.

I do the same with my modules. Most of the buildings aren't attached so they go in different places each time I set them up. Ellen

I like something I saw in Colorado last year: Build a fixed city block with sidewalls, etc.,and mount that on the layout. That way they have a summer scene and winter scene and rotate the block depending on what they want to show the world. It's sort of a T-rail module for scenery.
I'm anxious to try it on my first city Z-bend module.

Z-Bend modules are designed to be seen from both sides so no need to turn the module. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Actually most of my module designs will have a hill or big building in the middle of the module to hide or at least disguise the pair of tracks from from one side to the other. My thought is to have one side of the "block" decorated for steam era and other side for diesel and the era I'm not using facing the middle of the module. Of course due to the lack of modern era buildings kits in Z, I'm still researching structures.

Mark, you can go with Luetke buildings. They have couple of high rises. Marklin has one four story tall building, and theres a Japanese modern buildings made from cardstock. They pretty good for paper.

I'm familiar with all the products, but as I've mentioned before, I'd like somehting a bit more modern and a bit more American. I'm going on a photo safari tommorrow to Silicon Valley to get more ideas for a couple simple scratch builds.

BTW Thom, I like the three track crossing of modules. I wish Z-bend had an option for a 30 inch interface with tracks at 10, 11 & 12 inches to do something similiar.
