On powerboats there is direct linkage between more than one steering position ("helm"), usually one at the main deck level, and another way above on what is often called a "flying bridge". It's disconcerting to be looking at the empty position, yet seeing the wheel turn, and the throttle lever move, seemingly on their own. Maybe there *are* also controls in the cab.

Also shows a horse used instead of a steersman Some were fitted with front wheelz and it's interesting a few were shipped to Russia.
