Yes Jim, your are absolutely right regarding the "sucker rod" ( Aermotor calls it this way), but the decision was not taken lightly, I had design issues, either the sails wheel could oriented itself freely or I would have built a static display with a sucker rod supplied and going thought the whole motor , I had redone five time the motor design, with trial and errors, it was not easy as it looks, even thought the final design needs efforts form the builder. Yes I could have supplied a 0.020" brass rod, but I don't have a local suppliers, If only Michaels could open a store in Quebec province, Sigh! <br />But you can be sure that all your comments are well noted, I "always" appreciate constructive comments like this.<br /><br />Juts a note as fun information: It is not always easy to import everything, custom fees is always a show stopper. For example Last week I only wanted to purchase some IPS weld-on for Acrylic, IPS weld-on for ABS is everywhere, home depot and all those huge hardware store has it, but weld-on no 3 or no 4, for acrylic, forget-it, Montreal region has a population of 3.7 Millions, and I can't get some Acrylic solvent anywhere. Ha yes If I open an account and purchase for $500 worth of material, it is no longer a problem anymore, sigh….! I also found by research that California is not allowed to use Weld-on solvent no 3, outch! Sometime it is because of import difficulties and sometime it is because of local laws. <br />Like I said very frustrating to get specialize product over here.
