Micro Scale Graffitti Decals
Image information
Description
The mail man brough the Micro Scale Graffitti decals i ordered the other day. These are N scale, but the sheet has many sizes on decals to work with.
I still need to weather the cars a bunch, but decals on cleansurface is first, then light air brush and Bragdones powders.
I\'ll post more pictures once i wrap this project up.

- Graffitti happened in the days of steam and at the locomotive shops. Remember the Big Boy locomotive got its name by someone writing on it...0
- Those look sweet!!! I like the factory perfect finish on the models, but in the real world nearly all pieces of rollingstock have some kind of Grafitti on them!!!

Hobo Tim ;-)0
- Thanks Tony. I remember as a kid growing up in the Columbia River gorge I really didn't see graffitti on the SP&S, GN and NP rolling stock in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Some of the art is really good - perhaps railroads might hire some of these folks to design liveries ;-)

John0
- Thank you all for the kind regards. I left the decals alone overnight and will be working on the weathering tonight after work. I'll post some more pictures when i'm done. I have three other cars i added graffitti to as well last night, and i plan to detail, graffitti and weather all eight of my AZL UP's.

John, i think graffitti started apearing in the late 60's and started being more common as the 70's wore on, and into the 80's. When i was a kid growing up 100 miles from NCY in the 70's and 80's, i saw tons of graffitti, and i must admit some of it i really liked. The colorfull "bubble" lettering is my favorite.

For these cars, i've got photos of covered hoppers that the UP uses to service the Ute-Lite loader in Echo, and the AZL cars look very close.

Tony B...
Wasatch Z Club8)0
- Nice looking cars. Does anyone know when graffitti began showing up regularly on rolling stock? Was it the late 1960s?

Thanks,
John0
