- Amazing. Truly Awesome and imaginative. I come thru magazines looking for scenes, buildings and the little details that I can add to the miles of track. But I can't come close to this creative talent. Gees.0
- Thanks for the kind words.

Beverly, most of the details are scratch built. I'll try to get a photo tutorial up on my website soon.

The lamps are simply straight pins that I bent over with a pair of needle-nosed pliers. Then I cut off half of the plastic ball to make the lamp shade. The metal that shows gives the impression of a reflector.

I make the tires by cutting styrene tubing with a craft knife. I use a sort of rolling motion to cut through. This keeps the tube from becoming compressed into an oval.

The hoist is completely scratch built. I used a dowel to make the base and the cable drum. Using variously sized hole punches, I cut out circles to make gears. The counter weight is just a bit of balsa. The hook is a bit of brass wire curved to shape.

The staircase and railings are laser cut and will be available on my website by the start of next week.

Cheers,0
- Nicely detialed
Did you scatch build the tires, railings, stairs, light? If so, how were these details made?
0 - Having lived a block from the water for 22 years I must say you have captured the essence. All these building are very nicely done. I think I see the seagulls overhead.
Great job, Michael.0
