SEARAILS Auto Transporter and Etched Handrails

Hi Everybody,

I received my auto transporter and etched handrails for the, previously
released, RS shells in the mail today. The transporter is a work of art! If
you're planning on getting any of the AZL autoracks, you should get at least one
of these. They are done in the same RP material as the Sharknose and RS shells
released earlier. It comes in 2 pieces...the tractor with overhead rack and the
trailer. You can position the trailer in 2 positions depending on whether you're
going to stage it loading cars or driving down the road. The tailgate of the
trailer is hinged and swings down to form a ramp. The upper ramps on the trailer
are also hinged as one piece and swing down so that you could actually load the
transporter if you could drive the cars. Where did I leave my trained fleas??
I'm out of my house for a little while so I don't have access to any inspection
equipment besides my reading glasses, but the details look excellent. I just
might need to get another one.

The handrails for the RS shell are also excellent. They are etched out of
stainless steel and are very fine. In addition to the RS handrails, there are
generic handrails, light housings, fan grills, some parts that I'm not sure what
they are, and doors for the side of a diesel locomotive. The doors come as solid
doors, doors with partial louvers, doors with full louvers, and doors with a
combination of the afore-mentioned variations. I don't have my shell with me
(see above excuse) so I don't know how they fit..but they sure look good. If you
bought the RS shell you should get a set of the handrails...even for just the
extra parts for all you kit-bashers.

It looks to me like SEARAILS is producing high quality products.
The items were also extremely well packed. They were in foam padding inside a
plastic box surrounded by bubble wrap in an oversized box packed with packing
peanuts. These items won't get damaged unless the delivery person makes repeated
drives over it with a large vehicle.

So.....why aren't you going to their web site and ordering some of each right
now???

I think for some, Searails deserves a second l:) :) k. They have in the past few years really attempted to improve products, performance, and people relations. This Auto carrier is exquisite- Super detailed so even the rivit counters will be happy. They have a wealth of manufacturing knowledge, and techniques available. By encouraging searails, even more Z items may find thier way to the market. This is one small manufacturer too valuable to loose.
Small Print-- I have no vested interest in searails etc,etc--- lawyereese....
In the past, I too have had Issiues with Searails, as many have. But a sincere effort is being made to make quality products- examples are the engine shells and soon- heavyweights. Whatz next?

I guess a picture is worth a thousand words.. Can one of you post a close up picture of these beauties... after my experience with serails I'll need a lot of convincing one of which is a nice close-up picture.

Until then, there are large pictures on Searails site...

My truck remains unpainted at this time.
Thanks for giving it another chance.
My concern, that previous contacts have driven some modelers away-- and searails is making a sincere effort at this time. If things change I'll report that too. This is a resource that is good for Z.

Fred, I agree this is a good source for various Z products. I know I will be buying mining equipment at some point in the future. I would also like some cargo and container items. I haven't had any direct experience with Searails but I will keep everyone posted when I do. Thanks for posting the pics.
