National Z Scale Convention in Medford

If you are planning on attending the National Z Scale Convention in Medford between April 30- May 1, then Friday is the last day you can register for the event.

Do it now or you'll be out in the cold.

Over 100 folks have registered so far.

Loren... Any updates on the cars being offered for folks that register? I "heard" that the $50.00 fee includes two cars... one from AZL, another one from ?

I believe MTL is giving a convention car to all the attendees.

Only if you go to the Saturday Night Dinner do you get the car which is a pity as some of will not be staying for that dinner.

Well, the madness here in Medford is almost to a head. Tomorrow the guys in white will begin picking up Z scalers found aimlessly wandering around the streets of Medford with a dazed look upon their faces.

We hear that 2 North, (the psych ward at Medford Medical Center) has a whole wing reserved for any Z folks who can't repeat their own names and count to 10 without slurring their words.

Joe, Karin and I have a single room with three beds already. That way the nurses can keep an eye on us more easily and help us get dressed in the morning.....

From all over the globe and the USA folks are winging their way, fighting traffic snarls, and maybe even hoofing it with their thumbs out,.....just to get to the place all Z scalers want to be this weekend.

Everyone drive, fly, and hike safely today and tomorrow. This afternoon the first wave will hit the beaches at our home for a little last minute preparation, packing, custom work and last minute panicking.

Tomorrow the insanity hits for real.

You guys stop it.

Jeff Merrill, Hien Nguyen and Robert Ray reporting for duty at 2:30 Wednesday.
Rob and Hien will go to Karin and Loren's to help with lasers and kits.
Jeff to help Holly try new integrated sound system in the large scale park ride.

Thursday is setup day. 3 Module aren't coming for sure so Plan B kicked in: All the BAZ Modules were brought in. This will help fill the space and resolve the DCC DC issue as we can just run separate layouts (we can always convert the DC layout to one or two DCC tracks too, in case some one want to shoot movies (like an AC-12 / Challenger / GS3 consist ??)

It will also help with DCC clinic to show why large layouts should have blocks with circuit breakers.

Ben, I have word that a lady will be filming most of Friday's goings on so we have some of the events covered. Others will be taking pictures and video too so we hope to compile it all into some sort of format that can be shared by all if they want.

I wish I could be there, to be able to see everybody and what they have and to be that close to Crater Lake. I truely envy Karin and yourself. Plus we could have raided Joe's secret vault for future MTL products, hehehehe, , once again have fun.

OK, Bill Mock reporting in.
Just got on the Internet here at the Ramada Medford. It's grey and 41 degrees outside but I'm looking forward to the warm company of many crazy Z Scalers setting up in a few hours.
I have my camera & FLIP video ready to capture some of the fun.
My layout appears to have made the journey up to Medford in great shape - no boo boos yet.
I'll check my wifi at the Convention Hall, if it's stable; I'll get you guys lots of updates.
Hmmm, I wonder what car Rob from AZL is driving? Maybe I'll go spy the cars in the parking lot for secrets.
