What I was most impressed was the Valve Gears

After reviewing the different types, why cannot Marklin or AZL offer steam ingines with real working valve gears? I don't think it would cost that much more to have a working valve gear.This past weekend there was a Tenshodo mikado engine operating on the Zo Cal layout at the Rea Railroad Days and this little engine had a working valve gear.

(Been away from the forum for long...) Actually even if the valve gear piston doesn't move, AZL replicates the valve gear rods themselves on its brass locos, and one can expect it will be the same on the future USRA Mikes. In my opinion it's the most important as the real feeling of movement is done by the rods more than by the valve gear pistons.

I thin the reason I prefer to see the piston moving properly with an articulated joint to the main rod is that I usually operate the locomotive as a speed where the difference is visible rather than at high speed where the difference is lost in the speed of the movement.

Uh, as far as I know, Marklin steamers have no valve gear, have they?
