Cement Containers

Easy enough to do.. got any idea as to 1:1 dimensions?

I don't know the actual measurements of the cement container. But... I do have one of the N scale containers to measure.

The barrel width is 7 1/4' wide. The barrel width with two tabs on opposing sides are 9' wide. Total height of the cement container is 10'. While the height of just the barrel is 8' leaving the top to be 2' tall.

Now the interior width of a MTL 50' gondola is little over 8' while the MTL 40' gondola is just under 7 1/2'.

So if you design the cement container to 7' or 7 1/4' they can be inserted into any MTL gondola, and this is assuming the tabs sides are skewed to fit inside.

The details look much better than the N scale cement containers. And I agree with Fred on the lifters.

On my earlier 'skew' comment. I did not mean to skew the model, what I meant was to make sure they fit in the gondola well because the N scaled cement containers have little 1' tabs and they have to be set in a way to fit inside the gondola.

The real question here was.. would people prefer 8, 10, 12 or my preference for sets of 300???
