Loren,

Painting the structure will be the fun part. Lots of masking will need to be done to say the least. I've already applied for a second mortgage for the polyscale paint that will be used. Sure wished they offered larger bottles of paint.

This is an impressive complex with nice detail. What will be the overall size of it in inches?

Hi Terl
Thank you for your comment.I try to get as much detail on it i can. The over all foot print of the complex will be about 29 inches by 14 inches and the tallest point is about 10 inches in height.

Steve, coming along most excellent!! This will definately make for a centerpiece. Just build the extra cost into John's warehouse. ;)

Got the grain eleveator in the mail yesterday. Pictures do not even begin to do it justice. Steve was even thoughtful when packing, he wrapped the pieces in papertowels. Made for a nice touch to wipe my mouth as I unpacked.

Holy cow Ed!!! Your grain elevator complex is transforming beautifully. I remember visiting Steve and he was showing the complex off. But now when you had some paint, it just gets better and better.

A few years ago I got a great deal on ebay when I won an 80 bottle lot of Polly Scale paints for under .75 per bottle(including shipping). Very cheap! The paints were mixed about 50/50 with Railroad and Military colors and the other breakdown was maybe 20% of them were slightly to moderate used. This was one of the best deals I found.

Here are a few more updated images. Still need to go back and do some touch up. Since these pictures, I have weathered the rooftops.

OSHA can really give you trouble but it's for your own good. Now your employees will be safe. :)

Here are a few more pictures. These are of the grain bin that sits just south of the silos. Still needs a bit of rust added to the northern side. This is an intersting piece to paint. Each side of is has a different effect on weathering. The northern side has the most rust. The southern side is the cleanest. On the top, the paint is the best. Best I can figure, somewhere in its life, it was powerwashed. The only portion that got repainted was the roof. This stucture has had so many owners its hard to say.

Ed, this is a beautiful project. You keep bringing out the character of this complex with your detail work. Isn't it interesting how structures weather or age differently? Thanks for the updates! John
