I grew up on the "Main Line" just west of Philly. I remember when I was small and my mom would take me into Philly on the PRR commuter train. Sometimes we would take the streetcar and in the 50s there were still Peter Witt cars and the PCCs. We would wait for the PCC because it was more modern. I don't remember the PCC cars that didn't have the small windows above the regular windows. I think they were called "strap hangers". That was when it was still Philadelphia Transit Company (PTC) and the suburban trolleys were "Red Arrow".
