- Thank you Beverly--This was made from DOVER BOOKS HO western buildings. They have about 10 books of different themes that can be copied down to Z scale. I made a western town in full demension using this book to model the buildings. At that time there was only black and white copiers, so I used the copies as patterns and made them out of evergreen plastic and wood. Today, I would have used the color copy glued directly to the wood. That would have eliminated all the painting and detailing.... the windows and signs-etc. This can be done with fotos also of local or other recognizable buildings of choice. They can be placed in that "corner" that needs "something" to give an illusion of a town in the distance. with placement of trees and possibly the use of varying thicknesses of foam backing, it can work very well. I have seen this method used in museum dioramas. This particular picture came from my archives and is rather crude and not set in position.<br />Fred0
